AAMHI advocated to the Board of Education, county council, and several other county administrators and introduced a training module for all current and future county school counselors. The training module sensitizes counselors on Asian American stereotyping, the model minority myth, and other issues that specifically affect Asian American students. Our aspiration was to enable students to ask their school counselors for help without fear of stigmatized responses and promote a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
