CURRICULUM

AAMHI is dedicated to fostering inclusive and comprehensive education, so we took a progressive step by advocating to the MCPS Director of Health Education and integrating Asian American stereotyping education into the county-wide health curriculum. This innovative approach aims to equip students with a deeper understanding of the cultural nuances within the Asian American community and the harmful implications of perpetuating stereotypes. By addressing these issues, we provide a platform for critical thinking, encouraging students to analyze how stereotypes impact health perceptions and contribute to healthcare disparities. Our curriculum empowers students to challenge these biases and engage in open dialogues about cultural diversity, thus cultivating empathy and promoting a more inclusive society. Through this initiative, we are confident that we are nurturing a generation of informed individuals who value accuracy, respect for all communities, and the pursuit of equitable healthcare for every individual.
